PSA - When threading, please use the public for initial post, unlisted for follow-ups standard. When you don't, your thread clogs others' feeds. And please please please don't boost every post in a thread.
Is #Masodonts a term here?
@jimiadams if not, let’s make it happen and write a paper called “The Diffusion of Slang in an Emerging Social Media Platform”
@arliereed @jimiadams tooters seems less than ideal
People seem to be confused about how to do this, so here's a source: https://scicomm.xyz/@quokka/109274732847484553

To give a sense of why on this - when opening the app this morning, 25 of the first 30 posts I saw were one person's fully public thread.
@jimiadams seems more practical as a feature request than a behavior request?
@eckles it's a feature available in the web interface, tusky & metatext, just not the default app. But yes people have to choose to follow/use it (isn't default).
@jimiadams How do I do an 'unlisted' post? From the app I seem to be able to select only: Public; Followers only; Only people I mention. (Sorry, #newbie here)
@alessiodangelo is available in web interface or third party apps (I use tusky on Android & hear good things about metatext for iOS). Is missing in default app.
@jimiadams
Thanks for the tips. How does one change the publishing level of an already published posting?

@chin delete & redraft has been my approach, but it may be available via edit, which is only available on some instances (& not my current one) as far as I can tell.

(Coincidentally, I just did that with this post after failing to heed my own request!)

@jimiadams that's where I miss quote retweets - I can't tell people they should check out the whole thread when I boost
@Dubikan not sure I understand why a boost doesn't accomplish that.
@jimiadams because my followers won't know to click on it to see the whole thread?
