Is anyone maintaining a list of polisci/IR folks who have made their way to this platform? I'm trying to get situated here, but find the learning curve is steep enough that I keep falling off.

@truback Not that I am aware of just yet.

With that said, I would keep watching... I suspect that before too long the IR/poli sci community will spin up their own mastodon instance. Much like mastodon.pawprofs.org, or econtwitter.net (which despite the name is a mastodon instance).

Once it exists, you can either join it to easily monitor the local timeline (some people keep second accounts for this), or you can do what I do and simply click through posts from there to see who is being @'d.

Though admittedly, I would follow everyone on mastodon.pawprofs.org if it did exist...

@truback I found this site maintained by @brenton_peterson helpful. If you download the csv, you can then go to your Mastodon settings, click on import/export, click on import, and import that entire csv list. https://brentonpeterson.github.io/Mastodon-PoliScientists/

@truback @cadida @brenton_peterson @carolyneholmes You should also add yourself to that list and do an introduction post on here with a ton of hashtags. Hashtags are a bigger deal because they help people search across servers.

Just make sure you choose "Merge" when importing a "following" list. Otherwise you'll lose the current people you follow.

It's also worth spot-checking to make sure the imported names are actually being followed after a few hours. I've been having long delays and sometimes I end up just following people manually out of impatience.
