Interesing tidbit from Hugh Rundle’s excellent post about concerns about the “twitterfying” of Mastodon by all of us looking at this as a Twitter alternative.

The fediverse was built by one of the most marginalized and endangered communities on social media. It was meant to be a true alernative to other social media. It was meant to be a place for smaller conversations with people you feel safe with, not promotion and going viral.

Home invasion - Mastodon's Eternal September begins

The fediverse is dealing with a huge wave of Twitter people bringing toxic ideas with them.

I already plan to change my behavior here based on their thoughts. I have other places I can promote stuff from my company. Here I want to engage in meaningful conversations with all of you.
@marktraphagen fair points hows your week going
@iwanow Hi David! Going great. Lots of things to build at work (and I love building stuff) and lots of new relationship energy with a new(ish) boyfriend. HOw are you?
@marktraphagen oh that's great news about the new energy :) just getting ready for the colder darker days here... missing summer already
@marktraphagen I agree. I am really hopeful that this is the new community that I have been waiting for :D
