It's amazing how on Mastodon even with 1/10th of followers I get way more comments and meaningful interactions on my posts. I feel that no algorithms deciding who gets to see what really makes a difference.
I guess this proves my point
@saint11 I feel like Mike Wazowski in that. "I...was IN THE SCREENSHOT!"
@saint11 Now lets hope when the influx begins to cool down that remains true.

@saint11 Really does feel like a nicer, less artificial atmosphere here. Reminds me of the ancient internet of the late 90s/early 00s, where people actually wanted to talk to each other, instead of just doomscrolling all day.

I think Mastodon being organized into servers and showing the Local timeline has a lot to do with this, along with the lack of algorithm garbage, obviously. It's really nice!

@Natsu_Kaze @saint11 wow, I never thought about that! I just noticed that I don't get any doomscrolling feeling on mastodon
@Natsu_Kaze @saint11 that whole argument regarding 90's/early 2000's is one of the biggest pluses for this place
@saint11 On the bird site I've lately been afraid to come off as a "reply bro" when interacting with strangers with no mutuals. Here I'm no longer afraid to reply (I still hold off if I think there is a chance my jest won't be received too well.)
@saint11 Even with a fresh account and zero followers, I got quite a few meaningful and welcoming messages in my first toot. It's has been a wonderful experience to use Mastodon and I really hope more people make the transition.

@saint11

You have followers. Doesn't lean they see your posts. Wonder why ? You have to pay for that.
