… and I managed to move my account to a different instance 😅

So I'm assuming that when the Mastodon instance I'm on is approximating the Fail Whale, that's a good sign, right…? In any case, it definitely takes me back.

@turoczy is moving to a local instance ever a potential problem? I’ve got an account over on a bigger one and figured it would be less resource intensive/more stability to have one there. Can you keep the other account as an alias or something?

@gogobonobo Yes. I still have the other account at @turoczy. It's just "archived" with a redirect to the current account at @turoczy.

There's a way to move all of your followers to the new account. (I haven't mucked around with export/import yet. So my content is mostly still on the old account.)

Suffice it to say, they've done a good job with the flow and it's super easy. If I want to move back, I just remove the redirect.

@turoczy I did it! Easy peasy and good to know that I can go back if required.
