what are some good options for noise canceling over the ear headphones that dont give you a headache wearing them all day?
@H3KTLC What brand are you using currently?
@mattchis Im not thats the issue :)
@H3KTLC so 2 suggestions. I love my Bose, super comfortable. Second option that depends on what they are for, but there are "work" over the ear hearing protection headphones with built in bluetooth / noise cancelling etc that work well. they are designed to be worn all day on jobsites and in workshops and so comfort and battery life are a major focus.
@H3KTLC I wear my Sony WH-1000XM3 set all day long and have had no issues with discomfort and mostly forget that I'm wearing them.
@H3KTLC I use the Sony wh-1000xm5 and have never had a headache from them. The noise canceling is great too. I had one of the earlier models and upgraded for the new ones.
@H3KTLC The Sony noise canceling is the best I’ve experienced.
@H3KTLC I have some Sennheiser MB 660 that I like, but I got the like 4 years ago so there are probably more current models.
@H3KTLC #Cloudflare. It's cheap and since I already use it for DNS/CDN it's convenient.
@H3KTLC others seem to agree, I like my Bose QC45's, really good sound and comfortable earcups
@H3KTLC I went with the Bose NC 700 over the QuietComfort 45 because they are better for sweat when using them at the gym
@H3KTLC Bose have been my go to for years. Using same pair for 3 years with no trouble
@H3KTLC I used the new Rode headphones to mix down sound for a #devrel clip on the floor of KubeCon with great success. Closest thing to neutral sound that I have found in a headphone. Not everyone wants neutral sound, but it’s PERFECT for mixing. I need a pair.
@H3KTLC I have the Sony WH1000XM3 and I absolutely love it. I pretty much use it for the entirety of the day

@H3KTLC Sony WH-1000XM4 works very well! Just recommended them to my dad and he's liking them. Sounds great on calls, too.

Well padded, tension on the head band is right, the noise canceling is effective but doesn't make you nauseous (looking at you, Sennheiser...), sound quality is excellent.

Far as I can recall, Bose is better at canceling low frequencies and Sony better at high. Depending on your environment, that might come into play.

@H3KTLC I settled on the Airpods Max. Expensive yes, but for my situation swapping between iPhone, iPad, MBP, and Windows 11 desktop, it worked the best.
@H3KTLC the OTE options are great for work and I have a few, but for versatility and use at the gym the Beats Studio Buds, for the price have been the best value overall and work better than expected from my experience.
@H3KTLC The Sony WH-1000XM4 have been very, very comfortable for me, there are the XM5 right now too. Another option is the Bose NC 700 UC.
@H3KTLC love my Shure headphones. Not cheap but comfortable and I can’t hear anything else around me. Guess it comes down to noise canceling vs. noise isolating headphones…
