romeovive@MattGertz where I live, voting stations close at 20:00 and we have elections results by 22:00.
Counting process is done mainly by the same citizens that staffed voting stations (random selected citizens for each election)
(at 22:01 we have estimated results from pollsters which are usually quite accurate)
only reason for all this long process in the USA: you want it this way.

People who believe that suddenly election night counts are “what matters” are intentionally lying to themselves in order to justify their attempts to steal elections. That’s what’s so worrying - they’ll knowingly allow themselves to be lied to in order to cater to their baser instincts.
