@ajkohn @marktraphagen AFAIK images & videos get uploaded to a separate server, so it might just have been a bit overloaded. The mastodon.social instance is probably a bit at its limits given the growth, so we probably just have to be patient :)

@johnmu @ajkohn Good to know. I already moved my server once so I’m on a 30 day wait to move again, but will probably move to one of the SEO servers that have been started when I can.

@ajkohn @marktraphagen I'm mostly basing my guesses off of some of the hosting guides, like https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/mastodon -- they suggest using S3 for user-uploads, but I imagine that all goes through the main server first.
