Republicans sued to force Philadelphia — and only Philly — to reinstitute a time-consuming anti fraud measure that will make it take longer to rally votes, and now that they’ve implemented it right-wing media are attacking the decision. https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/live/election-2022-results-pennsylvania-senate-governor-candidates-voting-updates-news-20221108.html#card-2076970891
Vote count in Philadelphia will take longer due to last-minute change; 3,500 flawed ballots can be fixed at City Hall today

Voters will choose Pennsylvania's next governor and a new U.S. senator to represent the commonwealth.

Republicans are simultaneously ensuring that Pennsylvania takes as long as possible to count the vote
@MattGertz they’ve got to buy as much time as possible to flood the zone…
Republicans are simultaneously ensuring Pennsylvania takes as long as possible to tally votes and citing that lengthy counting process as evidence of fraud. https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/coming-right-wing-attack-pennsylvania-vote
The coming right-wing attack on the Pennsylvania vote

@MattGertz ah, the 2020 strategy.

I imagine that their goons will be ready to attack when they try to finish the vote counting.

@MattGertz The strategy worked well in 2020 to stir people up. Why wouldn't they use it again?

@MattGertz They're too lazy to change the 2016 playbook.

Unsurprising.

@MattGertz yeah, we’re on to them. We stomped out their craziness once before, we’ll do it again.
@MattGertz No morals, no ethics, no shame. #karma
@MattGertz There is a corollary: Prohibit Philly from enacting gun regulations and then complain that gun violence in the city is out of control.
@MattGertz They are doing the same in Michigan--only filing lawsuits in Detroit.
@MattGertz they’ve always been hell-bent on sabotaging the democratic process and then blaming everyone but themselves. they complain they won’t have a winner on election night but they literally engineer this scenario (by law) and then lie to their supporters.
@MattGertz Anything to disenfranchise voters. I believe Fetterman moved to allow misdated mail in ballots to be counted via lawsuit too. I am headed to the polls now in MontCo PA. #Shapiro #Fetterman
@MattGertz
As a Philadelphian, this isn't anything new. The GOP loves attacking us, and accusing us of rigging the system.

@MattGertz very on-brand tbh. much like their decades-long cries that “the federal government is ineffective” to get elected, getting elected, and then sabotaging and hamstringing the federal government.

Then saying, “see, we told you so!”

@MattGertz - best thing about Mastodon is it has an edit button. “tally” the vote.
