Let's start posting assorted images of #dinosaurs and such here to expand the #palaeoart #paleoart representation on mastodon. I'm trying to find and follow the people whose stuff I like -- can we get a thread going so I find more, please? Tag with #PaleoartAtMastodon and help us find our people :) Here are assorted old images I've done ...

@TetZoo "Let's start posting assorted images of #dinosaurs and such here to expand the #palaeoart #paleoart representation on mastodon."

Sure, here you go!

@mike @TetZoo Wow, peak #paleoart at Mastodon already. Why were such masterworks not included in the new Mesozoic Art book? Is the world not ready for them?
@markwitton @TetZoo I don't get it. I am easy to find online. Why did the editors of the book contact me? I can only be a conspiracy. It's Big Palaeoart up to their tricks again.
@mike @markwitton @TetZoo Shadowbanned for being too avant guard.
@john @markwitton @TetZoo The world was never meant for one as beautiful as my Brontosaurus artwork.
@mike @john @markwitton Well, book 2 is going to happen so keep an eye on your emails
@TetZoo @mike @john I see what's going on here: we're building to a specific collection of #MikeTaylorAwesomeDinosaurArt. Clearly didn't want the series to peek too early.
@markwitton @TetZoo @john For anyone who is late to the #MikeTaylorAwesomeDinoArt party, here is another sample, this time from my Speculative Palaeobiology collection:
@mike @markwitton @john Mastodon palaeoart peaked too early, it's all downhill from here
@mike
Best paleo-art ever
@bloomoom Thank you. I don't like to seem arrogant, but I can only agree.
@mike @markwitton I will re-iterative that, err, we'll call you. Just keep watching those emails.
@TetZoo @mike One does not *email* for artwork of such quality. One *signals*.
@markwitton @TetZoo @mike
Few days in and we already have memes on Paleo-Mastodon
@DEGL_TOONS @markwitton @TetZoo Don't say I never do anything for you guys. #MikeTaylorAwesomeDinoArt enters the realm of mammals!
@mike @DEGL_TOONS @TetZoo I love the delicate details in the skin and the look of intelligence you've put into the eye. And the hair at the end of the tail? [Chef's kiss]

@markwitton @DEGL_TOONS @TetZoo What can I tell you? I learned from the best.

#ProTip! Sometimes JPEG artifacts can look like skin texture!

@mike @TetZoo It's definitely the best sauropod ever, but it needs a caption, because otherwise no one will know what it is. : )

Many people in the fediverse won't boost images unless they have a caption briefly describing the image, and I'm thinking about adopting that habit myself. (There should be an edit or caption button in your app to add them - I don't think you can do it to already posted images. )

Thank you.
