I think the next step for LLMs is improving their understanding of pragmatic language in context (e.g. the A: "I wore gloves" to the Q: "did you leave fingerprints?" means "No") and want to investigate more dynamic ways of learning language than next-word prediction
Seeing other people's introductions I realise mine _very_ much looks like I don't have a personality beyond research but I do!!eleven!! I also run and play field hockey, care a lot about my side hustle (teaching 10 y/o's in London math), dabble in the occasional techno party (sometimes with my co-author and homepal @akbir), and am an amateur wine lover🍷
