If you are (planning to) leaving Twitter, don't forget to look at the websites you signed im using Twitter! (More > Settings and Support > Settings and privacy > Security and account access > Apps and sessions > Connected apps)
@aza_leah after several years of leaving, to this day. There's still a tweeter account in my name and I can't delete it. They own you and your data. They make it hard to leave because you are the product.
@aza_leah stuff like this is why I never sign in using oauth.
@aza_leah never give your credentials out of your hands. Always use a public (username) and private (password) key
@aza_leah I would suggest that if you did use any social media account to log into ANY other system/app/website/etc., you should immediately quit doing so! 😳
This #twittermigration makes a good break point! 😀
Unique, complex password for everything you do/use/visit + 2 factor authentication (2FA) if possible.
Use a password manager app to aid the process and journey 🤓👍
@aza_leah Don t forget to download your data before pressing delete.
@aza_leah Thanks! I can't believe the kind of apps I found connected to it.
@aza_leah oh shit this is a good point I did not think of!
@aza_leah Great tip. And I'll give another one: Before deactivating your account, also download all your data (Settings > Your Account > Download an archive of your data).
