@ShiolaOdan I just need a basic understanding of how this app works lol. I’m here from Twitter like most people. But even after friends tried to explain the app, I still don’t get it
Tooting is tweeting. You can re-toot or reply (no quote, but it makes a thread). What's different is who can see what.
Each of us is in an instance/server, like a neighborhood. What you share "public" goes to everyone on your instance, plus anyone who follows you (and folks on their instances, if they are looking). No global reach... But no global dogpiling either!
Also, the only searches are user handles and hashtags. #TagAllTheThings! Tap on #feditips for more advice. 💜
