Someone reminded me that I shouldn't find "people to follow" here. Instead, I should find people to *have conversations with.*

Unlearning 14 years of Twitter terminology and mindset isn't an overnight thing. But it's important to shift how I look at this space.

Because this space is special.

I didn't like it on twitter, however now I realize that I'm used to unhealthy habits after all. It's difficult, like giving up any other addiction, like smoking

@ltinuviel As an ex-smoker (who still thinks about it every other day) I feel this.

Maybe it's because, like smoking, doing stuff like doomscrolling involves these repeatable and physical gestures.

I think half the addiction of smoking is the physical action of it. You know?

@ltinuviel IIRC it's the "hit" of the likes, retweets, and various fake validations that resemble a sort of social currency.
