Someone reminded me that I shouldn't find "people to follow" here. Instead, I should find people to *have conversations with.*

Unlearning 14 years of Twitter terminology and mindset isn't an overnight thing. But it's important to shift how I look at this space.

Because this space is special.

I’ve found most of the folk who get weirdly angry about it are really just suffering from having been pushed into some unhealthy habits from Twitter and other places.

It’s fantastic to come here not have that “oh no what now” dread when I see the notification bell light up!

@wiredfire Thanks for pointing out yet another unhealthy side-effect of using Twitter: the anxiety! It adds up, and it absolutely screws with our mental health.

It’s alarming how easily it all invaded our thinkmeats and eroded our calm without us realising until we were doomscrolling for the next aggression.

I’m thrilled the whole debacle is starting to get some more people thinking about the mental health impacts of it all too.
