I just set up a filter for "RT" and it instantly cleared my feeds of most of the cross-poster stuff.

I am quite uninterested in birdsite cross posts. They are almost universally broadcasty with no attempt at creating interaction or conversation.

That's very out of place on #mastadon and the larger #fediverse.

@mike I wasn't morally opposed to crossposting until I tried to interact with one by asking a question and, when I got no response, figured out that it was completely unmonitored and that I was basically interacting with the equivalent of a flyer I had found on the ground.
@Sandrockcstm @mike I am cross posting because I have a large account on Disability Twitter and many folks there are really worried about losing community -- the same with folks coming here. By being someone who posts -- and is active -- in both spheres, I hope I can remain engaged with the community I built and love and ensure no one feels left behind or on their own.

@ahreaume @Sandrockcstm Twitter and Mastodon, including the corresponding disability communities, have different norms and behaviors. Things tend to be conversational here, which is not always true on the Twitter.

Do as you'd like! I just tend to unfollow people who try to turn the fediverse into Twitter.
