One thing I do miss from Twitter is following some news outlets, including local ones in SF. Seems unlikely we’ll get them onto Mastodon…

@masonoise I saw @sfgate joined recently though they haven’t posted anything yet.

Couple local journalists are around including @grantmarek of SFGate and @alexismadrigal of KQED Forum.

Keeping an eye out for other local news folk.

@genericmarco @masonoise @sfgate I think we may just set up our own server so all of our journalists will be quasi-verified because we'll only allow them on there. Going to use this week to get everything figured out.
@masonoise Don't know about San Francisco but there are some news outlets which are doing at least something here, for example https://texasobserver.social/explore . I don't really know whether that is unusual.
