Does anyone know what impact being on different servers has in practice? Some, or none at all really?
@DrBevW only difference I've seen so far is that finding and following people on other servers is trickier than it should be.
@pcsavage hopefully as things grow/develop over here, they’ll find a way to smooth that out
@DrBevW @pcsavage in part that's a 'cold start' problem — lots of unnetworked people joining at once scrambling in the dark. once existing users are more connected, that should change when new people enter (also because there'll be a lot of people who you want to search for who other people on your server already follow)
@mikarv @DrBevW @pcsavage is there a better server for someone like me do you think?
@richardmoorhead people appear to be all over the place at the moment. Hopefully that will settle down and cross server activities will be less tricky or which are the more appropriate for whom will become more obvious.
@richardmoorhead @mikarv @pcsavage as far as I can tell at the moment, .social servers seem to be most popular, but apparently being on different servers will have little impact eventually (although searching across servers at the moment isn’t simple I’ve found).
@DrBevW Yes the cross server searching and following is my main gripe.
