I'm from Liverpool and we have two nice but very different cathedrals. We have the big, beautiful Liverpool cathedral from 1903(I think) with that classic look and the Metropolitan cathedral with a more modern look, built in the 60's I think. It was designed with the altar in the middle so it could be viewed by as many people as possible.

I'm not an expert but I think they're quite neat :)

@hollie sorry don't mean to spam you but quick correction, the Liverpool cathedral STARTED to be built in 1904 but took 74 years to finish.

The metropolitan cathedral also has a wonderful crypt

@neilh90 ooh thats really interesting, thanks for the info! I have to admit I have not explored much of the North of the UK. Its something on my to-do list though is explore more of it and learn about the history!
