@marcjones Oh my, I had to "silence boosts" of so many people...
My controversial Fedi take is that boost is much worse than quote-posting to create healthy communities. I think boosting removes context and requires no effort, so people end up boosting way too much stuff... I would LOVE to know why someone is boosting something. After all, I follow YOU, not that other person you boosted. 
@caranha yeah, I can see a good case for quote boosting.
At the moment, I am using filtering way more than I have in the past 5 years. I am thinking about 2 weeks grace then unfollow/mute for those who really can't be bothered to follow scholar social norms.
