Got my first unsolicited anti-semitic message. Only took less than one day. I reported the message to my server and the originating server, but something tells me the originating server is owned/operated by the person who sent the message. I blocked both in perpetuity, but you know... not fun.
@dave3 this happened here???
@LexiA The message came from another server, but yeah, it happened within the Mastodon environment.
@dave3 well this is fucked up
@LexiA The downside of Mastodon is that literally anyone with a computer can technically run a server and do whatever. Most servers that are vetted/connected to Mastodon have to follow rules. Here's hoping the report I sent to my current server is addressed and they ban the offending server.

@dave3 @LexiA looks like that server is blocked by my server, which is good, because mine is the largest and is run by the creator. I suspect other instances will deal with it if we boost you and the other servers see what they are up to.

Pretty soon it's just gonna be that dude alone on his server with no access to anything.

@dave3 I got the same message a little while ago. Jarring.
@dave3 seems like a lot of people are getting the same message from that person. Hopefully, they'll be dealt with soon.
@dave3 I got one, too. I reported it, then blocked.
@dave3 Good to see the account is suspended now.πŸ‘
@dave3 Just went to blacklist the server and it's already inaccessible. I expect we'll have quite a wave of this as the people who messed up Twitter try to violate the safer spaces here. They'll get tired and go back to their own echo chamber when they figure out that their crap is ineffective here. Patience.

@dave3 I hope you blocked their instance too. With a tag like that, I doubt anyone else on there would be any different. I'll be checking to see if they're connected to my instance to block the hell out of them.

You might also consider migrating to another instance that already has such instances blocked
