I took that #photography from the #HauteProvence #Observatory 🇫🇷 about 12 years ago. It shows the #stars rotating around the north celestial pole, with #Polaris being the closest one.
To do that #photography, I had to expose over all the #night, hence more than 13 hours. As an evidence of that, #Polaris is describing half a circle, corresponding to half the #Earth rotation. 💫

@AlexSanterne really nice, how you handle this very long shoot ? Multiple one ?
@kazord Multiple exposures. I don't go longer than 1 minute otherwise the sky would be too bright. Then I stack them with dedicated software, this is very easy. Of course, the ~800 frames that were used for this picture were taken automatically with only 1s overhead between them.
