Does the search here work? Even a basic search like "cats" or "books" doesn't turn up any posts for me.

@gladsdotter It does work, it just searches from people what you follow. So go follow more folks and will see those things.

@Ignas Thanks for the explanation. But the reason I'm searching is to find people I might want to follow. How do I find people to follow if searching my interests doesn't do it?

@gladsdotter What I did, went through # of my fav categories. Additionally just checking Federated tab from time to time.

@gladsdotter You are on the right track by using hashtags in your own post. Also search for the #crosswords hashtag in the search box (if you haven't already). As far as I could tell on crosscord there aren't a lot of crossworders flocking to Mastodon (yet! evil laugh) but we are around here and there.
