@goabiaryan #julialang seen a lot of #rstats   and #julialang  people on fosstodon
@goabiaryan we use this 🔴🟢🟣 for #julialang 👥
@goabiaryan
I maintain python and R environments in my dayjob and personally use python primarily, but I've also used go for it as well - obviously, not with Jupyter, but for better performance when training an AI with a large data set.
@vwbusguy that makes sense given the goroutines for concurrency and just faster compilation speeds of Go.

@goabiaryan Well,

I'd love Julia to be viable in my field...
Anyway; Fortran of course

I mean, to provide the data used in the ML models

@goabiaryan For me questions like these are futile and lead to #ProgrammingLanguage wars. There should be no one language. Learn multiple language and pick the one which is best for you and for your job at hand. If your only tool is a hammer, every problem will look like a nail. Be a polyglot, or should I say #prolaglot? So the right question would be: what #ProgrammingLanguages (plural) do you know/like/use?

@kimmens sure, i can see why that may not be for you..

it was more of a getting started poll for the DS/ML people to feel welcomed in here and it has been used as such... for everyone coming from Twitter to know that they got friends who use the same tooling as them .. it is pretty certainly not a language war or a sub-context to why one is better than the other.

That said, i posted something similar on twitter not too long ago about language wars back when i was there https://twitter.com/GoAbiAryan/status/1587566647962832896?t=DlATqVSruhTaubAWqaNAmw&s=19

@goabiaryan Damn, got some work to do then. #python
@AmadeuszL haha,Econ Twitter has certainly embraced Mastodon - the Deep Learning Twitter though hasn't yet - we need to bring more of our friends 😂

@solislemuslab @goabiaryan amazing resource! Thanks for linking this!

I know there are many people (including myself) who want to learn how #Julialang can be used for #DataScience specifically and not just general scientific computing.

@goabiaryan chiming in to say hi to the #JuliaLang folks already here! If you want to learn why Julia is well suited for ML and DS, check out:
