Chris_Swan@stux It is an interesting article that discusses some important issues. A sustainable model must be funded in some fair and equitable way. I think the fact that folk feel safer on here is lovely. In the early days of internet socials, you found your crowd and knew some IRL. Social groups were based around shared interests. Moderation is a real challenge but is important in safeguarding users but I am sure that community mods. will manage growth in users.

I personally prefer friendica because I can interact with all the fediverse including diaspora where the G+ refugees went to, as well as the fact that I can filter twitter through it and purge out all the garbage.

But I do think it's a shame that Wilfred Chan starts out with saying several times that Mastodon is so difficult.
(It really isn't, it's more easy than signing up for your first mail adress).
And then, on the end, going on about 'the difficulty' to seek financing... He doesn't realise that the last thing Mastodon wants or needs are hedgefunds and start-up capital. He's stuck in a capitalist mindset...
