Similarly someone burnt the hell out of some food in a pot and buried it, and it was dug up 3000 years later. literally all we know about this person is that they fucked up cooking so bad they had to bury the pot. How much stuff do we do and then think no one will ever notice it, and then 100 years later or 3000 years later it's all anyone knows about us

@checkervest I remember going to a museum and seeing some badly burned remnants of (allegedly) noodles from the late neolithic, carefully preserved in a glass tube, on a shelf behind protective glass panels.

The guide told me those were noodles, and I trusted her.

@checkervest I love this about humanity, really. Wondering, was this a "this pot cannot be saved, might as well throw it away" issue, or was this, "OMG, mom's going to kill me, I need to hide the evidence!"

And the part I love is, either way, we're still like this 3000 years later. Burying our mistakes and hoping nobody finds out. 😆

@checkervest *Gazes sadly at the rear garden, thinking about all the pots of food I buried under it*
@checkervest I aspire that sort of notoriety. ;-)

@checkervest @[email protected] You should consider posting this to the r/Showerthoughts subReddit over on Reddit. It’s genius and you’ll find lots of similar gems there.
@checkervest I'm careful to only use LOL when I truly, genuinely laughed out loud at something. So, LOL.
