The world needs a new #twitter But unfortunately this isn't it. Honestly #mastodon sucks. I can't change servers without deleting my account. Everything is so disconnected. The rest is boring or self advertising. I logged out & it took so long to log back in bc I couldn't remember what server I was on. This place will never be popular. #mastodonsucks

Hm, you can change servers without deleting your account. As for not remembering which server you were on ... do you have this same issue with your email provider?

@oblomov I'm on the Android app, I see no way of changing servers. When I first joined I obviously had not much idea how Mastodon worked so I joined a random server. Then I had to find that server again before I could log back in. Its counter intuitive and dumb

I have no idea how the Android app works, sorry. Accounts are per-server just like email, you can't login to hotmail.com with your gmail.com account —is that counter intuitive and dumb?
And just like email, you can communicate with anyone, not just the ones using your same provider.

@oblomov Well I figured it would be like discord or Reddit or every other app in existence, where I could log into the app and then choose the server or channel I wanted. Instead I have to choose a server when I first sign up, even tho I know nothing about the server except half a sentence, and I can't even explore or interact with the other servers. So yeah it sucks.

@AfghanAveen I've only ever used the web interface and all of these things have always been very clear, including the possibility to explore and interact with other servers. If these things are not clear from the Android app, it might be appropriate to report this to the developers so it gets fixed for future versions.
