Nooo, now that even more people are on here I'm running into the same problem I have on bird site - I want to be a thot online but also have professional folks I want to follow for tech related things who would tbh block my account for nsfw related content, or minimum would never follow me. I guess the easiest thing would be to have the same handle in another instance but I hate having to bifurcate my identity. What do other people do?
@Purplebiker Bite the bullet and have a safe acount
@bootblackcub *sigh* you're right but ugh
@Purplebiker @bootblackcub or, hear me out, post lewds to main 😏😋
@aphyr if I was more established in my career I would consider that but I genuinely need help/networking at this point :/ I'm unfortunately not a super genius like you are with unassailable credentials.
@Purplebiker naw, I totally get it--covering is an important strategy in a lot of contexts. Just joking around. :-)
@aphyr aww haha cool. Well, I guess it's time for me to find an instance for tech related stuff. Perhaps I'll cross post that stuff here - I wonder if I can build/find an app or something that would let me post the same thing across multiple instances at once - it'd essentially be using an instance as a Google+ circle (rip)
@Purplebiker my full name is only on LinkedIn, it’s nicknames everywhere else.

@Purplebiker I don’t want to compartmentalize my social identity too much so I don’t make separate identities for every interest group because I like the idea of introducing people following me for one thing to other new things.

But let’s just say I like to be my whole self on main, but I made this identity to be my *hole* self.

@assal_horizontology Ya I think that's a good way to put it. I'm mostly intending on using this for everything with me, and my other account for more dry technology related topics and also politics when I feel like engaging on that. I want something I can show my family
