Found an actual example of 256-colour palette animation on the SNES! In Donkey Kong Country: Rare's logo grid lines are slowly drawn in by turning the colours green one at a time.
@rainwarrior That is so cool. It makes me wonder how they created it!
@jhaluska Like many things of this nature, I highly suspect D-Paint was involved.
