After sniffing some flowers, visiting the communal litterbox, and playing with his bestie Panda Cat, it's time for a well deserved nap.

@randynose @Gina I don't have a cat.
*Hangs head in shame.*
There's two in my backyard that are feral...
One is pretty good at listening...
The other one is pretty snarly if you get to close.
But I DO think I have encouraged them with water bowls and food..

Or, you can also put out a bird feeder, and get other guests...
Ever think about a Skunk for a pet?

@randynose @Gina I've been thinking about bird feeders. No need now, as there is plenty of food for birds available, but come Autumn migration and Winter I might put out a couple of feeders.
The neighbors would NOT be happy about a skunk.
@randynose @Gina I've been advised to only put out food when it's in short supply from "natural" sources. Therre are plenty of parks and open spaces to provide food for birds during the warmer seasons. The goal is to not make them dependent but to supplement normal food sources.
Even now I have birds in my yard occassionaly, pulling up worms or pecking the ground for seeds. We don't have any trees but there are birds in the neighbor's trees.
I need to do more research.
@Karen5Lund
I think the idea is to not to stop feeding them if you've been feeding them in the middle of the winter.
@randynose @Gina Well, I wouldn't stop feed in the MIDDLE of Winter; I'd wait until it was far enough into Spring that they could find food on their own.
Based on my exchange with you I doubt I'll put out any bird feeder. Look for native plants instead that might offer berries etc.
@Karen5Lund
Under one of my bird feeders, a bunch of the seeds and stuff started to grow. I've since stopped putting bird seeds in that feeder though.
Having native plants to draw in birds and feed them sounds like a great idea.
