Not sure what other way to ask so.. I've asked our Minister on #Twitter why the government of the #Netherlands doesn't have a #Mastodon instance...

We need one also! 🇳🇱

Hi Mark! Thanks for all your hard work in politics!

A question.. Why does the Dutch government not have a #Mastodon server? Even the German Bond & EU Commission have one..

We can't stay behind!"

“@MinPres Hallo Mark! Dank voor al je harde werk in de politiek! Een vraagje.. Waarom heeft de NL overheid geen #Mastodon server? Zelfs de Duitse Bond & EU commissie hebben er een.. https://t.co/YRxiyrqlYd https://t.co/FZRcOObNhx Wij kunnen niet achterblijven!”

Twitter
@stux you stole the link to social.bund.de from my post, lol

@kura yee   sorry!

I didn;t knew they had one, since 2020 even wow!

If you post about it ill boost 💪

@kura I got so jelous on Germany for having one..
@stux Good that you reach out like this. I can find very few real accounts of media and other organizations over here. They are mostly copies from twitter or rss. This makes it impossible to interact with them. If that changes, i think many more people will be interested to open an account on Mastodon.

@QuantumAspect thanks!   Even on our government website overheid.nl they often refer to Twitter or other social media for contact..

That’s insane!

@stux I think the difference with Germany is that they are pushing open source (linux) in their governmental institutions for years now. I have not heard that from the Dutch government. So i think they are stuck with Microsoft and hence readily to use Twitter.
@stux
I sometimes get all dreamy about countries learning the best policies from each other. Imagine what could be done if they learned from each other more in a curious way. Not jealously pointing at each other.
