oatcakeoff my #guitar game today by which i mean started out really bad at the only things i know how to do but! i took a little breather and things did get better upon return. trying to change chord smoothly still remains unaccomplished but it went less terrible than prior attempt yaaay
hope my motivation does not run out as it would be super nice to be ok or even good at one thing, as opposed to entirely terrible at everything
lilianalytic@oatcake Don't be too hard to yourself when learning an instrument, at least not so hard that it sucks the fun out of playing. It's not easy to learn and it takes time to develope the muscle memory.
@lilianalytic oh for sure, i learned both piano and saxophone as a kid and was unfortunate to have very aggressive teachers and i quit playing music completely as a result, until this recent adventure! knowing everyone has a slightly different way of playing helps too, means i don't fixate as much on what is considered perfect/correct. nobody is smacking my hands with a ruler anymore if i don't do it exactly right, so it's still much more fun even when i don't do so well
