My #playdate arrived today! And Bloom (https://rngpartygames.itch.io/bloom) looks and sounds gorgeous on it!

I do wish the screen worked better in the low light environment of my bedroom though. It’s hard to spot all the little details without a lot of ambient light to bounce off the display.

@00dani nope, it’s a high contrast, high dpi 1-bit LCD without a backlight. That means it has great battery efficiency, but playing it can be difficult depending on the lighting.

seems like an odd choice not to have at least an optional backlight for dark conditions, like on the pebble? but it would definitely produce better battery life to omit the backlight yes
