My favorite face blindness story--A woman started a conversation with me at a conference while I tried to figure out where I knew her from. Finally it came to me--she was my ex-wife. We had been married for over 10 years.

It does make me feel a lot better about failing to recognise a boy I'd gone out with at school, at a party a couple of years later. It was horrible, because it became obvious in front of everyone - and I knew there was something wrong but... I had no idea what! I hate myself to this day, for doing that to him 😞

I totally got away with it. One reason she's an ex is she wasn't intuitive enough to notice such things.

Well...uh....if you don't mind me pointing it out, you didn't get such subleties as what her face looks like, even if in a different setting 😋

But I do get you. Mood is important and some wouldn't pick up on it even if it bopped them over the head.
