Continuing my bizarre love of #ultrarunning documentaries (I am not a runner), I watched the excellent JourneyFilm #documentary, Unbreakable: The Western States 100, last weekend. It covers the 100+ mile #endurancerace over the mountains between Olympic Valley, CA, & Auburn, CA. It's a beautifully shot & compelling story of the record breaking 2010 race & is free to watch on YouTube.

@GreatBigTable why aren't you a runner? Or maybe the question is why don't you consider yourself a runner? You seem interested in it

I'm Dom by the way

@Dominicvfx I had pneumonia as a kid which scarred my lungs and makes it difficult to run any distance. That and a lifetime of bad choices have led me to being very very out of shape. I am trying to get better though. I am doing hacks to increase my activity level & trying to eat better. I hope to increase my distances over time, but I don't think I could ever run.

It's a long journey ahead, but I have to start somewhere.

You are right, though. Ultrarunning fascinates me.

Nice to meet you.

@GreatBigTable damn. I just got this message. The series of tubes is clogged

I have a long list of issues that should keep me from running.

The great thing about distance trail running is it's ok to go slow. Very different from road running. It's more about the adventure. No one is asking you about your splits.

@Dominicvfx Maybe one day I will get there. Baby steps.
@GreatBigTable but but do you want to be a runner… I mean… it’s a slippery slope from documentary to the cigarette being lit at Barkley right?
@Htaggert I have just started a LONG journey to try to be healthier. Cooking at home, food logs, measuring portions, gradually increasing my activity levels, etc, etc, etc. It will take a while. I have to remember that it is a marathon and just keep at it. If I make it to the end, I might try running. I honestly can't right now, but I am fascinated and maybe even motivated by it
@GreatBigTable I think it’s for you. I started just walking and then running. Since a I’ve been sick for a year now with Graves’ disease - just starting again. Kudos to your journey!
@Htaggert eventually. Thanks for the encouragement.
