@aral
Sorry too many characters to toot this but I didn't want to just email it... #diem25 #communication #p7

@juls Hey Julian, thanks for writing this. In keeping with the theme of the post, ideally your post should have been on a usable forum somewhere – having that space should be one of our priorities going forward :)

I feel everyone agrees on the fragmentation of communication channels and the associated burnout. Agree we must consolidate.

Re: sharing the links – also more fit for a forum. I’m going to look at setting up a Discourse instance on d25.digital this week as an unofficial test.

@aral yes, that's what I felt was missing. hence I just directed the post to you knowing that most diem25 members interested in the topic are already following you. topic related forums for discussions are totally needed!

again, would it be possible to embed these in the diem web appearances? that way members can passively follow the topic discussions without having to become mastodon users or active members in these work groups.

cool, let me know when it's ready and I'll share things there.

@juls Indeed.

It‘s not a substitute but one way to do make topics on Mastodon is to use hashtags. It’s not a forum, though.

You can embed toots, via the API. e.g., here’s the public timeline, which doesn’t require authorisation: https://d25.community/api/v1/timelines/public
