I asked the dad of the guy who serviced my bike (replaced the shifter and checked the internal gear hub) to add magnets so my #bike can stay together at the wheels when folded, kinda like what those fancy foldable #bikes have.
I hope to pick up my bike from them in the morning. I hope he did a good job. It requires a bit of welding. ๐ค

Yup! Got the magnets added. Turns out he didn't need to do any welding. Even better. ๐ The magnets aren't as strong as I expected, but still good. ๐
Now my el cheapo Japan surplus #bike can fold without the center of the wheels banging together. I still use a strap to keep it steady together because I'll be pushing my folded bike from the handlebar. Just a slight twist of it and the magnets will separate.
Money well-spent. ๐
