just suddenly had a thought that there's space in white and secondarily in blue for a mechanic that keys off of

'At the beginning of your upkeep, if no creatures attacked you or a planeswalker you control since the end of your last turn, (do X)'

things as big as draw a card or as small as gain 1 life, creatures you control get +1/+0 until eot, put a flying,+1/+1,lifelink counter on this creature, make a treasure, search for basic land to hand, etc

maybe an ability word that describes work done inside a sieged castle or blockaded port that's useful to do when they're not actively defending
Fortify would be great as an ability word but the term is squatting on equipment for land since Future Sight's [[Darksteel Garrison]]

@thorgrit I feel like the way this mechanic would work, it's kind of like you're throwing out bait, where if they DON'T attack, you get something, so 'Lure' or 'Entrench' would work well if we're sticking to military terminology

@hystericempress that is beautiful, thank you, Entrench seems like it would fit perfectly

I'm seeing it as a tool for control oriented decks with Ghostly Prison and some big walls up, in Commander format, that encourages politicking between the other players as to which one of them is going to sacrifice their lowest creature to shut down this effect

@thorgrit yeah. definitely White or Blue, I don't want Green having this on its own. Red/White maybe, if you wanna just throw it on random Pikers or First-Strikers that feel bad to trade with.
@hystericempress I love green but I agree it already has enough cool toys to play with, it doesn't need more atm, especially stealing them from other color spaces (cough treasure tokens cough)
