the farm is in a situation a little more comparable to the Soviet Union,
the animals are having some oddly nuanced arguments where they're like, weighing the choice between different bad and worse and risky options and facing the fact everybody outside is just greedy and deliberately avoids decisions that benefit everybody
the farm is under attack somehow
I think this would make a much more interesting story even if you really hate the soviet union
I think the hardest part is trying to imagine what an 'invading imperialist farm' would look like
my mind sort of gets images of factory farming, south american regions that had to sort of raid the soil nutrients and move on to a new plot, or the monsanto proprietary-seed-landed-in-other-field cases
i could sort of imagine an ancap farm that was willingly bought out by a huge business empire assuming they'd know how to make it more productive
it's really kind of funny how Animal Farm starts as a fun little cartoon fable,
but the moment you decide to represent global capitalism by bringing in imagery of capitalist industrial farming it really becomes an actual horror story.
in fact i almost feel like there would be *no comparison* between how effectively Animal Farm defends capitalism and how much this one would make you question how big a sacrifice is worth it to fight communism
