One of the nice parts of the #DT01 chassis design is that the gearbox already has a brace built into the chassis, so no transmission slap!
I also really enjoyed the big tires. Most of the areas I drive in are pretty rough and these lorge bois help keep the chassis nice and high away from rocks.
Additionally, the chassis has a nicer steering system than the #RisingFighter as it has symmetrical tie rods and more steering angle. However there is a sloppy linkage involved which I hope to remedy with a 3D printed part. I think it will be the first ball-raced DT-01 steering system ever! 🤣
Upgraded the #DT01 a little with a #3DPrinted servo/chassis bracket. This part seems to take out a lot of the flex the stock part had. The steering as a whole is still super sloppy but I don't like seeing the servo flex plastic parts. 😰
I published two new #Tamiya #DT01 #3DPrinting part designs! They're remixes of existing ones. Hooray for open licenses.
