I have seen the top of that thread pass me by (get boosted in my timeline) a few times, but only seeing your suggestion to read the whole tread made me do that.
So:

2. I'll try to think about what this means, what is says about me...
For one: recommendations work. Nice.
But also something along the lines of: I am not paying attention to what @silverspookgames hast to say :-( - until @aral suggest to do that....
#eurocentrism might be one part of it...
