Here some tips for any #Debian user who use #Sid aka #DebianUnstable

1. If you go into Stable or Testing thinking that it is stable, it not. when you do come across problems, they will persist for longer compared to Sid. The reason is that upstream fixes go to Sid first

2. Install apt-listbugs, apt-listchanges and configure it via "dpkg-reconfigure apt-listchanges" . So you will aware of super critical bugs or important changes when you install new packages or during an upgrade on your #debian #Sid / #Unstable .

3. Remember to run "sudo apt update" before installing packages that pull in new dependencies on your Debian.

4. Using "sudo apt full-upgrade" will removes packages that become obsolete, but it make your #Debian much cleaner. Anyway, you can just use "apt upgrade" to avoid unwanted removal of any packages that you depend on

5. Last tips, consider using LVM or btrfs file system , so you can rollback to the last snapshot if unexciting thing happen :)

6. If apt upgrade give use warning about outstanding grave bug such as

"Grave bugs of libxml2 (2.9.10+dfsg-6.7 → 2.9.12+dfsg-4) <Outstanding>
b1 - #993638 - libxml2: XHTML 1.0 validation is broken"

you can exclude the package to allow others upgrade pkgs by using

sudo apt-mark hold libc6:i386 libc6

Then you can update the other package by excluding problematic package. But don't forget to reset hold package

sudo apt-mark unhold libc6:i386 libc6
