Seven years ago, the senate of #Berlin has initiated a new road safety program. Its ambitious goal was to significantly reduce traffic accidents, getting “as close as possible” to #VisionZero (i.e. zero accidents with injured or killed people) until 2020.

And here's Berlin's reality of 2020: Each red dot marks one road accident where a person was injured or killed that year.

Unfallatlas | Kartenanwendung

Der Unfallatlas enthält Unfälle mit Personenschaden. The German Accident Atlas contains accidents with personal injury.

PS: Only accidents reported to the police are listed on the map. But as both experts and activists have pointed out, incidents with minor injuries are often not even reported to the authorities. So the actual situation might be even worse.
@kernpanik any idea how the numbers changed ? Berlin has 3.6m people so there will always be dots sadly. Much better city than others I lived in for cycling
