Finding it really perplexing when some people see #Christianity as evil and fake (and rightfully so), yet can't see that #Judaism and #Islam are just as ridiculous and wicked.

@Melezh It's often because, in the West, Christianity has tended to be hegemonic, while attacks on the other two can be easily used as cover for xenophobia, racism, etc.

I used to be a hard-line "#religion is all bad" atheist, but that perspective has softened in my old age, mostly from reading Ken Wilber integral stuff and having some positive spiritual/peak experiences w/ meditation & psychedelics...

@mattcropp well, I understand the underlying reasons for this vision and yes, people whose approach to things softens and becomes more nuanced with time are usually the nicest and the best people over there. But due to my personal history of fundamentalist religiosity and then more liberal religiosity, and having met many people of all religions, I still find it hard to reconcile religion with anything positive 😔 well, there are advantages but they are far outweighed by drawbacks

@Melezh One thing I find particularly interesting is the insight into the human experience that comparatively looking at religious experience provides, which inherently creates a challenge to the integrity of any particular religion with a claim to discrete universality.
