considering making a general rule of leaving any website that has a warning/strike system

or maybe sticking around but immediately giving up on the idea of mods ever getting anything done

@bat what happened now

@silvally someone reported one of the Xanadu ringleaders a week ago. mods banned them about five minutes after someone made an unrelated topic about how mods are slow to ban fash.

mods gave an accounting for how they spent the time which amounts to "we got a report a week ago, investigated it, then just kinda... sat on it."

@silvally mods also dove on the common "waste everyone's time" dodge of "well we have to get both sides of the story" and the confirmed fash user (literally screenshotted using racial slurs) accused some other onsite user of bad stuff, so they were like "well, time to investigate _that_"
@bat god FLO is going to last all of two months isn't it
@PsyChuan i think they're going to get brigaded by the alts of right wingers and do basically nothing, then the old mods are going to buddy up to those guys and the site will die fast instead of slow
@bat that wouldn't surprise me in the least. the founding mods will, in that event, bring up the civility of the fash

@PsyChuan before Warren got banned he successfully petitioned site owner Venthas on Discord to have all his warnings deleted. afaik the process was basically he just asked and Venthas was like "oh yeah sure."

i assume another mod impulsively banned him in response to that.

@bat @PsyChuan damn is venthas an actual piece of shit instead of an assumed one through inaction?

@caymanwent @PsyChuan i think venthas is kinda oblivious, i haven't seen him do anything bad for any other reason.

but i certainly expect that story to happen again, numerous times.

fash can afford to be civil. letting a really pointless bureaucratic process get carried through is basically just another form of chaos and sends the message "the mods don't give a shit" which is half of what they want. (the other half is an ethnostate)

@bat @PsyChuan yeah I fully see that happening. "Don't stick your head up" seems to be the general policy and the hemming and hawing about how to deal with bad actors really looks shitty.
@caymanwent @PsyChuan i'm vaguely tempted to see if I can get them to make me a mod -- probably won't happen since i've been rude and stuff, but I'm more active than any of the mods are anyways, and at least then I would be able to complain about this stuff in a channel where they couldn't ignore me
@bat @PsyChuan sounds like a lot to take on, but having people yelling at them directly seems to get shit done (such as getting the mods to apologize for subtweeting me in a site-wide message)

@caymanwent @PsyChuan yeah so i dunno, i don't give the site my full-time attention? but i keep up to date on most of the threads that contain flamewarring, routinely peek at clubs where suspicious users are, and I take notes on who's watching who.

i kinda don't want to be shouted at by the general userbase but like i've been shouted at before.

i guess drawing fash attention on the internet as a whole doesn't seem like a great idea even though i _think_ nazifurs are pretty harmless?

@bat ehh do it if you want to. I sure wouldn't want to deal with their byzantine system of moderation any more than I have to when I use the site.
@caymanwent yeah i dunno, i might experiment with shouting at them a while longer. worst comes to worst, they either say no or they immediately de-mod me the first time i ignore bureaucracy, then i subtweet them about it and the quiet problem becomes a way louder problem
@bat if you want to take that psychic damage go for it, but I'm happy just yelling at the mods for both-sides-ing every controversy they have to deal with. I did get a mod to quit because I yelled at them for being passive aggressive towards me, so my duty is done.
@caymanwent oh, is that why stahz quit? i never got the full story even though i remember them doing that
@bat lol yeah, I demanded an apology from them so hard they quit
