I keep /wanting/ to be more engaged in the fediverse...
Let's take a steps back, and examine social media from perhaps a different lens/perspective. -- It's not all about the content creators, arguably the actual intent of social platforms is consumption.

I'm having difficulty finding interesting people to follow.
I'm finding that 'instances' tend to just be a hodgepode of 'identities', and less a focal of 'community'. It's a bit of an issue of signal to noise.

I think I may be missing something fundamental.

How are people following topics of interest?
#Hashtags just seem ill-purposed in actual usage.

Is there currently a method to pull an instance /public feeds into my mastodon 'client'?

It seems like a missed opportunity to foster community/group/social-circles...
