Infuriate the ghost of Steve Jobs by pronouncing macOS like "nachos".
I'm still doing this in my head every time I see it.
@mike And now i'll be doing it as well
@mike Double-down. Do it to iOS and iPadOS as well.
@MattHatton @mike from today on I will say "eyepa-dos"

@mike

šŸŽ¶ macOS macOS maaaan

I'm gonna be a macOS man! šŸŽ¶

@mike I always pronounced it as o ess eks. And even at macos 11 I still do so.

@loke I'm sure people saying "eks" instead of "ten" was one of the reasons they went ahead with the bump to 11. I've seen people get very mad about that heh.

I'm kind of surprised it didn't happen earlier.

@mike If they wanted people to say ten, they would have written it 10. They made the same mistake with the iphone eks.

@mike

"macOS macOS man
you've got to be a macOS man!"

@mike yosemite / vegemite
@mike Neat idea, I'm going to use "MƤckes" in German, which is the colloquial version of "McDonalds", keeping with the fast food theme.

@mike

Do we sing it like the village people song macho Man? And it would be what?
Macos man?

@mike

@mike yes. And even better when saying MacOS X.
@mike @decryption my compsci lecturer called it Mac-oz which was wild to me
@mattdarveniza @mike @decryption I constantly have to fight the urge to call it Mac-Oz. Back in the WebOS days there were a bunch of Australian developers who called it web-oz and it filtered back down to us that this made Palm very annoyed, supposedly.
@mike i prefer 'android'
@mike Alternatively, pronounce nachos like macOS.
@mike I'm never not calling it Macosx (rhymes with Unix)

@mike

Is the executable format (Mach-O) pronounced mock-o or macho…

@rk I now have the Village People on loop in my head. Thank you.
@mike Well, it does use the Mach kernel design doesn't it?
@yojimbo see a bit further down the thread for some Village People earworming. šŸ™ƒ
@mike I’m going to start a faction that pronounces ā€œnachosā€ like ā€œmacOSā€, just to mess with everybody. 😈
@josh as long as it infuriates Ghost Jobs, we're all on the same team.
