ok so, you just don't experience romantic attraction at all? honestly i'm not sure if i've ever experienced it, either. infatuation, yes. i can count on two fingers how many times i've made a romantic gesture for a partner. i suppose, some links to info could be useful, please :)

@purple pretty much. not experiencing romantic attraction is the most common/simple definition of aromantic.

@purple @sunflower_avenue For me a romantic attraction is something like an infatuation that manages to mutate and sustain itself even throughout a prolonged intimate relation.

I have had and have friends, male and female (I am mainly heterocismale) that I'm happy to see, that I would help get through trouble, and that I would be personally hurt to see hurt. But still when I see them, hear their voice or touch them, they don't trigger the same tingly chemicals that a romantic interest does.

Certain reasonable parts of my brain shut down when I'm interacting with a romantic interest, some ancient override that suddenly makes it very important for me to be in this person's favor. I don't get this at all from close friends.
