Tutanota has been blocked in Russia. Users can still access Tutanota with a VPN or the Tor browser.

@Tutanota @chris, it is still email so options are limited by architecture. Gaining user access is no problem (VPN, Tor, proxies...) but communications with other email servers located in Russia are likely to fail which render the email service far less useful for Russian users.

Also Tutanota is not alone here as Protonmail and Startmail (similar services) were also blocked by state censorship earlier. This is sad and is another reminder for the world why information freedom and privacy are so important and so fragile. If someone told me ten years ago they would block Internet services here, I wouldn't believe them.
