French pals: do you also call it a French seam when you sew the fabrics with the insides facing, then flip it and sew it outsides facing so the seam is enclosed? The English call broderie anglaise broderie anglaise, but couture française kind of gives the impression of all of french fashion to an english so um?

@Murkrow i don't know shit about sewing but i don't think so. We usually don't have names that go "[something] français'e", like French braid/Dutch braid is called "tresse africaine", so yeah

update: it appears after non-extensive research that we call it une couture anglaise

oh also it's Mon Petit Poney in French (but you can say "ponette" for a female pony)

well, in bookbinding, there's a type of binding we call "reliure à la française" in french but yeah dunno for the rest! as to couture, i think another term we use in french for the french seam would be couture envers endroit (or something similar) but i'd have to check with a friend to be sure :o (but i know there's something similar in bookbinding with the same designation, so yeah that might be it!)
